Aldan is a city in Yakutia, which is the administrative center of the Aldan district. The city is located in the place where the Inconspicuous stream merges with the Ortho-Sala River, 530 kilimeters from Yakutsk. Today it is a fairly developed settlement with its own railway station on the Amur-Yakutsk highway and an airport.

The economy of Aldan

Gold mining is the main branch of the economy that allows the city to actively develop. In addition, several industrial enterprises and a machine repair plant are located on its territory. Deposits of coal, uranium and iron ores, apatites, a charoite deposit, large reserves of copper and mica have been found near Aldan.

Sports in Aldan

Sports life is of great importance for the city and for the district. It was in Aldan that the Metallurg football club was formed, which was in the first league of the Russian championship in 1993.
