Artyom is a city in the Primorsky Territory, founded in 1924. This is one of the easternmost settlements in Russia, which was founded as a mining village, but at the beginning of the 21st century the last mine was closed. The city was named after one of the revolutionaries, Comrade Artyom. The distance from Artyom to Vladivostok is 53 km. The city has access to the Sea of Japan - the Ussuri and Amur Bays.
