Belogorsk (founded in 1860) is a city of regional subordination in the Amur Region of the Russian Federation (Far Eastern District). The city is located in the Asian part of Russia in the south of the Amur region, on the Zeysko-Bureinskaya plain in the lower reaches of the Tom River (right tributary of the Zey River)- on its left bank, 109 km northeast of the regional center – Blagoveshchensk and the state border of Russia and China.

Transport in Belogorsk

Belogorsk is a major transport hub – a railway station on the Trans-Siberian railway and a line to Blagoveshchensk, to the east runs the federal highway R–297 "Amur" connecting settlements in the following directions: Belogorsk – Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk –Chita, Belogorsk - Yakutia, Belogorsk - Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krai.

The history of Belogorsk

Initially, the settlement with displaced peasants from the Perm region was called Alexandrovskoye, after the construction of the Amur Railway, it joined the Bochkarevo junction station and in 1926 the newly formed city became known as Alexandrovsk-na-Tomi. Later, the city was renamed several times – Krasnopartizansk (1931), Kuibyshevka-Vostochnaya (1936), Belogorsk (1957).

Belogorsk today

Currently, multi-storey buildings (modern buildings) are interspersed with 1-storey wooden houses (old buildings), the city stretches along the coast for 6.5 km. The territory of the city district is 135.5 square kilometers. The city's economy is represented by enterprises of the food and construction industries.
