Biysk is a town in the Altai Territory, which owes its education to Peter I. himself. This is a very valuable town for Siberia, which in 2005 received the title of a science city. Despite its small size, Biysk has plenty of attractions. For example, only in this city can you see an unusual monument of the Russian leader Lenin, who is depicted in a hat with earflaps.
Many monuments can be seen in the historical center of the city. There are about two hundred of them in total. If you walk along Tolstoy's main street, historical monuments will appear literally at every step. For a long time, Biysk was the center of the Altai Spiritual Mission, so the spiritual life for the townspeople is sacred. The pearl of the town is the Assumption Cathedral, the most beautiful city building.
