Yessentuki is not just a city in the North Caucasus, it is one of the best Russian resorts. It occupies the southern territory of the Stavropol Territory.

The exact etymology of the city's name is unknown, but one of the most realistic versions is associated with the legend of the prince, who named the city after the miraculous healing of his son thanks to one of the sources. The derivative phrase was "Yessen bale", which in translation from the Karachai language means "living hair".

The city is located at the place where the Bugunta River flows into the Podkumok River. The distance from Yessentuki to Pyatigorsk is 17 km, to Stavropol - 200 km.

Mineral waters in Essentuki

There are more than 20 mineral water sources in Yessentuki. The most famous mineral water sources are Yessentuki-4, Yessentuki-17, Yessentuki-20, and Yessentuki-2. With the help of mineral waters, metabolic diseases, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and other diseases are treated, a list of which can be read on a bottle of mineral water. Therapeutic waters include Sulfur-alkaline springs "Essentuki-1-Borovaya" and salt-alkaline springs "Novaya".
